2024 Remembrance Day Commemorations

On November 11, the Bemin Secondary College community came together to honour the courage and sacrifices of those who have served in conflicts past and present. Our solemn Remembrance Day ceremony was a moving tribute, marked by respectful moments and traditions that underscored the significance of this day.

The ceremony began with Principal Jo Camozzato and Junior School Captains Ishmay and Mreedula laying a wreath in remembrance. Their role in this act of honour represented our school’s respect for those who served and highlighted the importance of youth carrying forward the legacy of remembrance.

Following the wreath-laying, a reading of the poem In Flanders Fields echoed through the ceremony, reminding us all of the enduring impact of sacrifice and the resilience of the human spirit. We then observed a minute of silence to reflect and pay our respects, which was followed by the haunting notes of the Last Post, a tribute that deepened the atmosphere of reverence.

Our Remembrance Day commemoration was a meaningful experience for all who attended, encouraging us to pause, reflect, and ensure that we carry forward the memory of those who served.

Lest we forget.
